The Martin Gallier Project was founded in 2017 by Jessica Gallier.
Following the loss of her father to suicide in February 2017 Jess found herself dedicated to preventing suicides and supporting bereaved families. Jess set out on a mission to “Prevent suicides, break down stigmas and support families in the North West”. The Martin Gallier Project was granted Community Interest Company status in August 2018 and fundraising efforts began to equip the her and Claire with Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training. Five weeks, and five thousand pounds later, with plenty of help from the local community, friends and family, Jess and Claire qualified as ASIST trainers and brought the training home to Merseyside. And so…in memory of Jess’ old man, The Martin Gallier Project was born.
The Martin Gallier Project is fiercely dedicated to preventing suicides, breaking down stigmas & supporting families in the North West. The project was set up in memory of my father who took his own life in 2017 aged 55. The one of a kind project has been put together to tackle the areas we found to be lacking during Dads journey with mental illness, the missed opportunities to save his life & the situations that we believed to be be damaging to the family following his suicide.
