If you are taking regular medications, you will be issued with a prescription slip listing your medication. When you next require a prescription, you can use one of the following methods to renew it. We are unable to take prescription requests over the telephone because information can be misheard which can lead to prescribing errors. Prescription requests submitted through PATCHS will not be accepted.

In Reception – Drop prescription in collection box located in reception

Order Online –

By Post – Post it to the Practice.

Prescription Requirements

If you complete the repeat prescription form on the “right hand side” of your prescription, please mark the items you require clearly with a tick – only the items with a tick next to them will be issued.

If you are requesting via email (repeat prescriptions only), please ensure you type the name of the item and the strength of the dose as per your prescription form. For example: Propranolol 40mg, one to be taken up to 3 times per day.

When can I collect my new prescription?

Please allow 48 working hours (excludes weekends and bank holidays) before collecting your prescription.

If you provide us with a stamped and self-addressed envelope, we will send the new prescription back to you.

If you have nominated a local pharmacy for EPS (Electronic Prescribing Service) then all of your prescriptions will be sent to that pharmacy so you will not have to call at the Practice to collect.

If you consent to receiving SMS (text) messages, we may also inform you if a prescription is ready for collection in this way.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you do not run out of medicine. Keep all medicines in a secure, locked place out of reach of children. Always read the instructions and use the suggested dose. Watch expiry dates – don’t keep or use medicines past their expiry date. Take all unwanted and out-of-date medicines back to the pharmacy.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medications will be asked to see a member of the Practice clinical team at least once a year to review these regular medications and a notification should appear on your repeat prescription slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
